Our Vision: to see deeper connections and greater confidence in children and their families.

Our Mission: to create deeper connections and greater confidence in children by raising awareness of the dangers of social media and smartphone use and to help set them up for a brighter future.

COLLIN KARTCHNER

July 29, 1980 – October 20, 2020

Save the Kids was founded by Collin Kartchner, a husband and father of four who dedicated his career to bringing attention to the destructive nature of social media and the dangers of smartphone use.

Collin’s posts about social media started as satire, but they struck a chord with his followers, many of whom struggled with low self-confidence, crippling comparison, and cell phone addiction. After tragedy struck a family friend – largely due to social media – Collin knew that his next step was to face the problem head on.

For several years, Collin traveled around the country spreading his message to teens and parents. Using real-world stories, powerful statistics, and his incredible energy, he taught thousands of people how to break free from their screens and live a happier, fuller life. Wherever he went, he left love, positivity, acceptance, and hope in his wake.

Collin believed in 8-second hugs, screen-free memories, and creating safe spaces for all kids and teens.

WE STILL believe in those values. We were founded on them, and Collin built Save the Kids to spread these values. We know he would have wanted us to continue his mission and are committed and honored to do so.
